KGF Chapter 2 Movie Review

Right since its teaser released early last year, the sequel to K.G.F. has been the most awaited movie of 2022 so much that two Bollywood biggies chose to defer their releases to avoid a box office clash. Salaam Rocky bhai!!

Chapter two is total mass film on providing entertainment with a clear focus on the machismo of its two warring superstars – Rocking Star Yash and Sanjay Dutt. No exaggeration doston but the racy narrative has nothing new to offer at plot level. We saw a daredevil underdog (Yash) become the undisputed king of KGF in Chapter 1. Here, he grows his empire while tackling a larger foe Adheera (Sanjay Dutt), and later takes on the State itself when the Prime Minister isn’t too happy with his meteoric rise.

The acting department is first-rate and both Yash and Sanju set the screen on fire whenever they face off. Raveena Tandon is a revelation and creates a mighty impression even though she appears only in the film’s second half. Srinidhi Shetty doesn’t get much scope but looks gorgeous in certain scenes.

Admittedly, Chapter Two is a heavy watch with every inconsequential character mouthing hero punchlines. The treatment is over the top in each and every scene and the loud jarring background score doesn’t stop even one minute from start to end. Also, the narrative gets confusing at least initially with all those cuts to a grim Prakash Raj explaining the story.
